Congratulations to our 2022-2023 members, Elizabeth Lee and Sienna Rivera for the recognition and award of USFSA’s  Graduating Seniors Award.

The Graduating Seniors Award Program recognizes individuals graduating from high school who continued their training in figure skating while pursuing their academic studies. The program honors qualified graduates for their achievements during high school through the presentation of a certificate to the skater during a school function or recognition opportunity.

Elizabeth was awarded the Gold level award and Sienna was awarded the Silver level award.

Martin (“Marty”) Cohen passed away on December 23 in his home in Castle Rock, Colorado. Marty was born on February 27, 1934 in New York City. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Glennace Cohen and their two daughters and their families. 

After his military service as officer in the US Navy, Marty graduated with BSME degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1953 and MBA from Wharton Graduate School of University of Pennsylvania in 1958. After retiring from a distinguished career in the mining industry which brought him to Colorado, Marty joined Glennace in volunteering for US Figure Skating. Glennace has been the official for the sport of figure skating for over 50 years. She had served as the official for numerous international and national competitions. Marty has served as a Board Member of the Broadmoor Skating Club for close to 15 years and was instrumental in successfully guiding club’s financial affairs. Marty’s knowledge and acumen have provided invaluable contribution to the club and its future.
