Fire and Ice is a mock-competition where skaters perform a program in real-world conditions.  Warm ups are timed, waiting for scores are simulated and crowds are encouraged to applaud loudly!

Fire and Ice FAQ

Q: What is Fire and Ice?
A: Fire and Ice is a mock competition intended to give athletes the chance to practice their programs under similar conditions that they encounter at real competitions.  No. They are not judged.

Q: Where is Fire and Ice?
A: Fire and Ice is held at The Broadmoor World Arena Ice Hall, on the OLY sheet.

Q: Is it free to watch?
A: YES! We encourage and love an audience!

Q: I am not a member of the Broadmoor Skating Club.  Can I still register?
A: YES! There is a small fee for non members.  Please go to the registration form for more details.

Q: How do I upload my music?
A: Full instructions are on the registration form.  

Q: Why do some of the skaters have to wait for their music?
A: This is a simulation.  At a real competition skaters frequently are ushered onto the ice and then wait a short period while judges finish tabulating scores.  The skater will sometimes perform small jumps or talk to their coach while they wait to be announced. It’s normal.

Q: Who are the skaters?
A: The majority of the skaters are either from The Broadmoor Skating Club or from other local clubs.  We frequently have International or visiting skaters perform.
