Irina Vorobieva

June 30, 1958 - April 12, 2022

Irina Vorobieva was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. She was a Russian pair skater who competed for the Soviet Union.

In 1976 Irina and her partner were the Soviet champions in Pairs and went on to win the Bronze medal at the World Championships. They competed in the 1976 Olympics and finished 4th. The next year they won the Silver medal at the 1977 World Championships.

In 1981 Irina and her new partner became the 1981 World champions and the 1981 European champions in Pairs Skating. 

Irina was a coach at the World Arena in Colorado Springs and a member of the Broadmoor Skating Club. Among her students were Brittany Vise and Nicholas Kole, Tiffany Vise and Derek Trent, and Shelby Lyons and Brian Wells.

She will be greatly  missed.

Clare Seo wins the 2022 Junior Ladies National Title

Clare Seo is the 2022 Junior ladies US Figure Skating National champion. She skated a flawless short program scoring an impressive 67.38. Her free skate was equally impressive scoring a 118.15 for a total score of 185.53!  Clare will represent the USA at the 2022 ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championship in April at Tallinn, Estonia.
